Uh well I mean the way I heard it was that Tyler was working on a farm with his friend Ben in Ohio (because real talk all that’s really in Ohio are farms and like three walmarts) and one day Josh freaking Dun just comes out of the cornfields with his stupid blue hair and sunglasses holding his phone up looking for a signal to play some FarmVille and it was weird because Tyler and Josh were the only two dudes wearing shades on that entire farm so Tyler thought Josh was a cool dude and asked him to be in a band because he wanted to prove to people that Ohio isn’t just full of walmarts and corn and Josh said yes as long as he could get some wifi and bang on some stuff. That’s either the way they met or the down on the farm video I get them really confused.

I heard that they were both on a train and there was a horrific accident. They dragged themselves out of the wreckage to a clearing where they both realized that they were the only survivors. Josh’s arm was badly burnt - nope that’s not a tattoo. Because of their survival, they both thought the obvious thing to do was form a band

i heard that tyler got threw into jail for murder 2 cells away from josh who was in for stealing from a grocery store. in the cell between them was a large tattooed man. he constantly heard josh banging homemade drums in his cell on one side and tyler playing piano on the walls on the other side and the large man thought, “hey you guys should meet and you should be in a band or something.” but back in those days they didnt have any singing because you cant really sing in jail.

i heard that josh and tyler met in high school when tyler was a troubled jock and josh was a punk kid in the marching band. one day in the middle of a basketball game josh started drumming such a sick beat that tyler couldn’t stop himself from rapping and his rhymes were so amazing that the other team was awestruck and tyler made a slam dunk and won the game. right after that they both dropped out to start the band.

i heard that they were a firing range and Tyler wasn’t that great at firing his gun so he asked Josh (who was a pro) to help him. So josh did, and then put his arms around Tyler to show him how its done. Then Tyler was like “hey we should be in a band” and Josh was like “yeah.”

These are all true

Promo because top

Okay, so ever since this phenomenal duo went on tour as openers with Fall Out Boy and Panic! At The Disco for their arena tour last year, there’s been a HUGE spike in their fan base online and at shows. Which is totally awesome!!! And absolutely just the kind of attention these guys need, as this project’s only a couple years old and is still gaining momentum. But as with any great band, it’s kind of hard knowing where to start and how to get into them. So I decided to hopefully make that easier for you guys by putting together this super mega masterpost on everything twenty one pilots! And hopefully this can also be a great reference post for old fans as well. Enjoy!
Getting To Know Them:
So who’s in the band? The band is fronted by Tyler Joseph, a self-taught singer, rapper, pianist, and ukulele-player. He is backed by drummer and close friend Josh Dun.
Where are they from? Columbus, Ohio.
What kind of music do they make? While they span a good handful of modern genres, if I had to describe them in a sentence, it’d be an electro-indie-rock duo that occasionally raps. They have also been called “schizoid-pop”.
What’s their message? Stay alive. And power to the local dreamer.

I refuse to let ignorance ruin this moment for me and the rest of the clique. twentyonepilots has worked way to hard to get to this pivotal moment in their career only for it to be smudged by ignorant people. If you didn’t like their performance or if you don’t like their music fine it doesn’t give you the right to talk shit about them and the fans who listen to their music. You have no fucking idea how much this band has helped us, how much their music brought us out of that deep dark fucking abyss that we call our minds. So the next time you feel the need to tell someone to go kill themselves for liking such a shitty band remember you don’t know what we’ve been through you don’t know us.
Power to the Local Fucking Dreamer!!!

Some of my fave twentyonepilots lyrics. I’m so proud of the guys I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us |-/
